Craig and Karen's wedding in Paarl, Western Cape.

Warning: There are more photos of children and babies in this post than of wedding cake and decor. Besides the fact that I particularly love photographing children, Craig and Karen had recently become the proud parents of sweet little Amelia, and she won everyone's as a teeny tiny flower girl. The wedding was a sophisticated yet relaxed long, lazy lunch under ancient oak trees in Paarl.

Rupert and Florence's wedding at the Cape Town Castle

Rupert and Florence took things to the next level. Their dream of having a royal style / South African wedding came true, thanks to a whole lot of creativity, hard work and attention to detail on their part. A day time ceremony at historic St Pauls church in Rondebosch was followed by tea in the church hall. The Cape Town Castle of Good Hope was the exquisite and original venue for the more intimate family lunch, the existing decor telling so many stories about Cape Town and ghosts, that not much more was required. The food was amazing, a lot of it foraged from the west coast where chef Kobus runs his restaurant Oep ve Koep. Rupert is a hardcore botanist, (they exist ok), and so the flowers in the church were potted and very rare ericas, borrowed from his mate at Kirstenbosch and of course, the confetti was indigenous. : )

Chris and Tina's wedding at Umtamvuna River Lodge, Wild Coast, KwaZulu Natal.

These two beautiful people were always going to have a wedding to remember. They love each other, their family, their friends and food... probably in that order, and the celebration took us to the Wild Coast of KwaZulu, which was a first for me! I was only shooting the first part of the weddding, but the second half will be reminisced for decades to come. Have you ever seen a bride gyrating with a burning hoola hoop of fire on her wedding night? Do you even know how much fun the greek tradition of smashing plates and dancing is? Introducing, the much-loved, Chris and Tina.
